Mammoth Biosciences’ COVID-19 Test Gets Emergency Use Authorization

Mammoth Biosciences has been granted Emergency Use Authorization by the FDA for its Detectr Boost COVID-19 test kit.

Used together with the Agilent Bravo BenchCel DB liquid-handling platform, the test kit detects RNA from the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 in nasal or oropharyngeal swab samples from individuals suspected by their healthcare providers to be infected.

The test, which uses automated gene-sequencing technology, delivers results comparable to polymerase chain-reaction (PCR) tests, the Brisbane, Calif.-based company said.
