FDA Approves Sex Therapy App

San Francisco, Calif.-based medical software developer, Lover, has received the FDA’s approval for its sex therapy app of the same name and is launching the product in the U.S.

The Lover app provides customized advice and educational content following a 30-minute consultation for personalized coaching and goal-setting. The FDA said the app can “provide an important public health benefit.”

The software was reviewed as part of the FDA’s Safer Technologies Program (STeP), a voluntary program intended to help reduce the time it takes to develop and obtain marketing authorizations for devices.
