Chemence Medical Gets FDA Clearance for Its Exofin Precision Pen for Wound Closure

February 4, 2022

Alpharetta, Ga.-based Chemence Medical has received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance for its Exofin Precision Pen for applying topical skin adhesive for wound closure.

The pen includes an adjustable tip that allows users to control the adhesive width with three different application methods — a micro-bristle brush for wide coverage, an inverted brush for narrow lines and an angled precision tip for micro lines. It also features a pressure-controlled variable adhesive flow rate and a see-through chamber to view the adhesive flow.

The skin adhesive provides a 14-day microbial barrier that allows patients to resume normal activities faster, including showering without special coverings or dressings.
