Innovative Health Gets FDA Clearance to Reprocess Boston Scientific Catheters

Innovative Health, a specialty cardiology device reprocessor, has received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance to reprocess Boston Scientific’s Intellamap Orion high-resolution mapping catheter.

The reprocessed catheters, which are widely used in catheter ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation, can reduce costs by $1,300 in some ablation procedures, according to the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based company.

“Single-use device reprocessing has presented a strategy for improving care without suffering the usual hardship of cost-reduction initiatives,” said Innovative Health CEO Rick Ferreira.
