Esaote North America’s Magnifico Open MRI System Approved

Esaote North America has received FDA approval for its Magnifico Open MRI, an open whole-body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system.

The device was designed to bridge the gap between traditional musculoskeletal imaging and whole-body imaging, according to the Fishers, Ind.-based company, which is a subsidiary of Genoa, Italy-based Esaote.

The Magnifico system includes a “speed up” setting, which helps ensure optimal diagnostic image quality and reduces examination times. Other features include “metal artifact reduction,” which generates high-quality images for postsurgical patients with metal implants, the company said.
