FDA Authorizes Supermax’s Surgical Masks for Emergency Pandemic Use

March 9, 2022

The FDA has granted Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to Supermax Healthcare Canada for its Model 2110 and 2120 surgical masks.

The FDA granted the EUA under an umbrella authorization for certain disposable, single-use surgical masks that provide a physical barrier to fluids and particulate materials to prevent healthcare personnel being exposed to respiratory droplets and large particles during shortages of regular surgical masks due to the pandemic.

The Canadian company is a division of the Malaysia-based Supermax Group, which claims to be the world’s second-largest disposable glove manufacturer.
