Mawi DNA Technologies Gets CE Mark for Sample Collection Products

Hayward, Calif.-based Mawi DNA Technologies has received CE mark certification for its iSWAB noninvasive sample collection devices.

The certification includes the company’s HemaSure-OMICS whole blood collection tubes and its NextSWAB 100 percent injection molded swab. “OMICS” is not an acronym, but a nickname for biological disciplines, such as genomics.

The iSWAB technology allows recovery of double-stranded, large-fragment DNA, making it suitable for complex genomic analysis using microarrays and next-generation sequencing, the company said.
