Vizient and RISCS Join Forces Over Pharma Supply Chain Pilot

Vizient and RISCS — a nonprofit dedicated to preventing drug shortages by promoting sustainable supply chain practices — are teaming up to create a pilot program designed to improve the pharmaceutical supply chain and make it more resilient.

RISCS already has in place a rating system that evaluates the supply chain sustainability standards used by manufacturers of critical medications. But the two partners plan to develop a rating system that would evaluate critical aspects of the supply chain and provide more transparency.

The pilot program will analyze data from pharmacy suppliers and consider such supply chain issues as available production capacity, flexibility and geopolitical risks.
