Spartan Micro’s Support Catheter Gets 510(k) Clearance

Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Spartan Micro’s Spartan SC 069 support catheter has received FDA’s 510(k) marketing clearance. The company specializes in devices for use by interventional radiologists.

The Spartan SC 069 catheter, which is designed to introduce interventional devices into the peripheral and neuro vasculature, is available in three lengths and can be used to access a variety of anatomies, the company says.

The company also markets related devices, including the Spartan MC 0165 microcatheter and the Spartan Center Wire — which is specifically for use in accessing the peripheral vasculature. Its product pipeline includes devices for treatment of embolic stroke and intracranial atherosclerotic disease.
