FDA Grants 510(k) Clearance to Oryx Dental Software

May 20, 2022

Seattle, Wash.-based Oryx Dental has received 510(k) marketing clearance from the FDA for its Oryx Cloud imaging software.

The dental imaging software, which can view, annotate and organize dental radiographs and color images, can be used with most dental imaging devices, such as intraoral X-ray sensors, intraoral cameras and scanners, according to the company.

The software allows dentists to upload scans, intraoral photos and radiographs directly into patients’ charts. It also enables them to attach radiographic notes to captured images and apply a positioning aid at any time.

The dental management software also allows clinicians to “mix and match” image acquisition devices from a variety of manufacturers and to pull the needed components into one platform, the company said.
