Zavation’s eZspand Lateral Cage Cleared

Zavation Medical Products has received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance for its eZspand lateral cage, which is an addition to its eZspand interbody fusion system.

The lateral cage is an expandable lumbar interbody fusion device that offers an optimized patient fit that enhances structural stability and improves sagittal balance, the company said.

The cage, which does not require secondary locking, adjusts up to a 15-degree lordosis angle to allow for the inward curve of the lumbar spine and it can be backfilled with bone graft.

Flowood, Miss.-based Zavation is an employee-owned company that designs and manufactures spinal hardware and biologics for cervical, thoracolumbar, interbody fusion, interventional spine and minimally invasive surgeries.
