Lice Clinics of America Issues Warning About Unapproved Lice Devices

August 4, 2022

Lice Clinics of America, also known as Larada Sciences, said its competitors are using air-generating devices that have not been reviewed or cleared by the FDA for use in head lice treatments.

Competitors are using bonnet-style hair dryers usually found in hair salons, as well as pet-drying devices used in dog salons. And some are using a cold-air device meant for cooling the skin during tattoo laser removal, the company said.

Lice Clinics of America says its AirAllé device, which uses heated air to kill head lice and 99.2 percent of lice eggs, is the only product on the market that has been cleared by the FDA to use air in treating head lice.
