Pfizer-BioNTech to Deliver Omicron-Adapted Vaccines in October

BioNTech said the company expects to begin delivery of two Omicron-adapted COVID-19 vaccines in time for the fall booster vaccine campaigns.

BioNTech and vaccine partner Pfizer have 20 vaccine manufacturing facilities spanning four continents and expect to begin shipping doses of the bivalent vaccine in October, provided they get regulatory approval.

A bivalent vaccine has not yet been approved by the FDA or other regulatory agencies.

The U.S. has logged almost 99 million cases of COVID-19 and more than a million deaths since the start of the pandemic. Currently, more than 100,000 cases and almost 400 deaths are being reported each day to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
