August 10, 2022

Arlington, Tenn.-based MicroPort Navibot has received 510(k) marketing clearance from the FDA for its SkyWalker robot-assisted surgical system.

Prior to surgeries, the planning system assists surgeons in developing patient implant plans based on computed tomography (CT) scans. And the robotic tool can be used for precise positioning of the implant during surgeries.

The company initially plans to offer the robotic system for use in knee replacement surgeries but is also planning to develop other orthopedic applications in the near future.

MicroPort Navibot is a subsidiary of Microport MedBot, which focuses on robotic surgery.
