Imagin Medical Acquires TROD Medical’s Prostate Cancer Ablation Device

Imagin Medical is expanding its portfolio of prostate cancer products by acquiring Belgium-based TROD Medical’s enCAGE Coil precision ablation system for $2.5 billion.

The disposable ablation device delivers bipolar radiofrequency energy through a coil electrode during a minimally invasive office procedure.

The enCAGE system enables the surgeon to preset precise ablation margins to target only the cancerous tissue.

Imagin will pay $350,000 upfront, followed by potential milestone payments for securing FDA’s 510(k) clearance for the next trial phase or modification, upon receipt of FDA’s De Novo approval, and for achieving specific sales targets.
