Lonza and Touchlight Ink Collaboration Deal Over Doggybone DNA

Lonza and Touchlight have inked a collaboration deal that allows Lonza access to Touchlight’s doggybone DNA technology.

Doggybone DNA, a novel synthetic DNA vector and enzymatic DNA manufacturing process, enables rapid DNA production. More traditional plasmid DNA is manufactured using E.coli fermentation, according to Touchlight.

The collaboration agreement allows Swiss manufacturer Lonza to offer the doggybone DNA option to customers developing messenger RNA (mRNA) therapeutics and vaccines.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
