PolyNovo’s NovoSorb MTX Receives 510(k) Clearance

PolyNovo has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its NovoSorb MTX device for use in regenerating soft tissue for healing complex wounds.

The NovoSorb MTX matrix is complementary to the company’s NovoSorb BTM (biodegradable temporizing matrix), but does not require a sealing membrane. The MTX product allows the wound to be closed either with a skin graft or to heal by contraction and formation of an epithelial layer.

The product was developed in response to requests by clinicians for a product that can be used in situations where a sealing membrane is not required, the company said.
