Applied Tissue Technologies Receives 510(k) Clearance for PWD

Applied Tissue Technologies’ Platform Wound Dressing (PWD) negative pressure wound therapy system has gained a 510(k) clearance from the FDA.

The PWD system combines a single-use pump and a transparent embossed dressing that eliminates the issues associated with foam dressings. And it can be used for up to seven days, leading to fewer dressing changes, the company said.

The system has several wound care applications from chronic to acute wounds and burns. It can also be used to deliver topical analgesics and antimicrobials.
