B. Braun Medical Acquires Clik-FIX Device Portfolio from Starboard Medical

B. Braun Medical has acquired Starboard Medical’s entire Clik-FIX portfolio of peripheral intravenous (IV) catheter securement devices.

The acquisition includes five devices — Clik-FIX Peripheral, Clik-FIX PICC (peripherally inserted central catheters)/Central, Clik-FIX Universal, Clik-FIX Neonatal PICC and Clik-FIX Soft PICC/Central.

B. Braun says the newly acquired devices will help improve outcomes with peripheral IV therapy. The company’s Peripheral Advantage program combines clinical instruction and advanced tools to help prevent many of the complications associated with peripheral IV therapy.

The catheter devices were developed as a result of a personal experience with an improperly secured IV catheter, according to Starboard Medical’s President Kerry Edgar.

The financial terms of the purchase deal were not disclosed.
