Collagen Matrix Expands Its Product Range With Polyganics Purchase

Collagen Matrix is planning to enter the ear, nose and throat and general surgery areas through its acquisition of Netherlands-based bioresorbable medical device developer Polyganics.

Polyganics’ devices are based on proprietary polymers designed to facilitate tissue repair and regeneration and improve surgical outcomes and patient recovery.

Oakland, N.J.-based Collagen Matrix, which is focused on manufacturing collagen and mineral based medical devices that support the body’s natural ability to regenerate, said it will also be expanding into the neurosurgery and peripheral nerve areas.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
