FDA Approves LimaCorporate’s 3D Printed Shoulder Platform

October 14, 2022

The FDA has approved LimaCorporate’s new shoulder platform with a 3D printed glenoid (shoulder socket) baseplate and humeral stem for use in reverse shoulder arthroplasty.

The 3D printed glenoid and humeral components take advantage of the company’s patented trabecular titanium, a lightweight biomaterial designed to provide strong primary fixation and secondary bone ingrowth.

The new platform was designed to allow surgeons to move between several baseplate designs to address different pathologies, from simple primary to complex cases.

The company plans to launch the approved shoulder platform in 2023.
