Eminent Spine’s ALIF Stand-Alone System Cleared

November 14, 2022

The FDA granted 510(k) clearance to Eminent Spine’s ALIF (anterior lumbar interbody fusion) stand-alone system for surgery to treat lower back pain.

In ALIF, a surgeon removes the problem disc, inserts a device to lock the vertebrae and prevent painful motion and corrects the alignment of the vertebrae.

The implants include aggressive teeth to resist migration in the spine, anatomic curved and rounded margins and a large central opening for maximum bone graft material. The system also has a tapered nose, allowing for easier insertion.

The ALIF implants are available in 30-degree lordotic angles and five implant profiles.
