SafeSource Direct’s U.S.-Made Chemo-Rated Nitrile Exam Gloves Cleared

The FDA has cleared SafeSource Direct’s chemo-rated nitrile exam gloves, allowing for use in healthcare settings and providing a U.S. source of the critical personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nitrile gloves are more resistant to hazardous materials than the more common latex gloves. Because the company’s nitrile gloves are chemo-resistant, they can protect medical staff from exposure to anticancer drugs.

The company’s two manufacturing facilities in Louisiana can help mitigate risks in the global supply chain and “help solve America’s PPE supply challenges,” said SafeSource Direct CEO Justin Hollingsworth.

The company expects to be producing two billion gloves annually by January 2024.
