Cost Plus Drugs Teams Up With RxPreferred

Cost Plus Drugs — the online generic drug company founded by celebrity entrepreneur Mark Cuban — has partnered with the pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) RxPreferred Benefits in a deal that aims to offer medications at lower prices.

RxPreferred is a Tennessee-based PBM whose clients include employers, hospitals, hospices, brokers and third-party administrators.

Under the partnership deal, the companies will offer the option to use Cost Plus Drugs under certain employer-sponsored benefits.

The financial terms of the RxPreferred deal were not disclosed.

Cuban launched Cost Plus Drugs in 2021 and said the company will publicize its manufacturing, distribution and marketing costs, and will only add a flat 15 percent to arrive at wholesale prices.
