Realize Medical’s Virtual Reality 3D Surgery Planning Software Cleared
January 25, 2023
Realize Medical has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its Elucis virtual reality (VR) software for 3D surgical planning.
The software uses computerized axial tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to create 3D patient models.
The VR tool also lets users connect with other users through a VR headset or a desktop PC, allowing surgeons to share images with other surgeons and with patients.
The Ottowa, Canada-based company said the software can be used to plan any type of surgery.
