Wandercraft Walking Robotic Exoskeleton Gets FDA Clearance for Stroke Rehab

January 26, 2023

Wandercraft’s Atalante gait-training exoskeleton — a walking robot that surrounds the patient — has received FDA clearance for stroke rehabilitation.

The device, which is self-balancing, hands-free and battery-powered, has an adjustable gait that can help stroke patients reestablish walking whether they can use their arms.

The device was CE marked in 2019 and is used by rehabilitation and neurological hospitals in Europe. The company plans to launch the product in the U.S. during the first quarter of this year.

France-based Wandercraft is also developing an exoskeleton for use by people with reduced mobility at home and in their daily lives.
