FDA Warns That Energy Supplement Contains Active Cialis Ingredient

February 6, 2023

The FDA has issued a consumer advisory warning that Manners Energy Boost contains the active ingredient of the prescription drug Cialis (tadalafil), an FDA-approved drug for erectile dysfunction.

Tadalafil could interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels, the FDA said, adding that nitrates are often found in drugs used by patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease.

The product is promoted and sold on Amazon.com and “possibly in some retail stores,” the agency said.
