Stratasys TrueDent Cleared for 3D Printing of Dentures, Crowns, Bridges

Stratasys has obtained its first FDA-clearance for TrueDent resin, used for 3D printing of multicolor denture, temporary crowns, and bridges.

The class II dental resin is designed to be used with the company’s J5 DentaJet 3D printer and GrabCAD Print software platform. 3D printing produces dental appliances truer to the model, in a shorter time frame than traditional methods such as milling.

The resin enables labs to create permanent, natural looking gums with accurate tooth structure, shade, and translucency in one continuous print, the company said.
