Methinks Stroke Suite Software Gains CE Mark for Large Vessel Occlusion Detection

Methinks received the CE mark for its Methinks Stroke Suite medical imaging software, the first CE marked medical device that assists in finding the large vessel occlusions found in 30 percent of acute ischemic stroke patients.

The AI-powered software uses a triage and notification system to identify suspected large vessel occlusions on non-contrast computed tomography images and computed tomography angiography.

The software, which has been validated using 3,800 stroke cases from three hospitals, can also detect intracerebral hemorrhages on non-contrast computed tomography images, the company said.

Methinks also plans to submit the stroke software for review by the FDA.
