Apotex Recalls Six Lots of Ophthalmic Solution Because of Cracked Bottle Caps

March 7, 2023

“Out of an abundance of caution,” Apotex has put out a nationwide recall at the consumer level for six lots of its Brimonidine Tartrate Ophthalmic Solution, 0.15 percent, due to cracks that have developed in several of the solution bottle caps.

“There is a possibility the broken cap may impact sterility and if so, the possibility of adverse events,” the company said.

The recalled product treats elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

The affected lots were distributed in the U.S. between April 5, 2022 and Feb. 22.
