Davita and Medtronic Launch Kidney Tech Company Focused on Home Care

Mozarc Medical, a new joint venture of Medtronic and Denver, Colo.-based DaVita — a provider of freestanding kidney dialysis facilities — aims to offer “innovative” in-home treatments for kidney disease.

DaVita, which provides dialysis services to 200,000 patients in 2,724 locations in the U.S. and 350 outpatient dialysis centers in 11 other countries, says it aims to revolutionize home dialysis by “improving accessibility, ease of use and clinical performance.”

Medtronic has folded its renal care solutions business into Mozarc, which will serve the U.S., Europe, Latin America, Mexico, Japan and greater China.
