JOGO Health Biofeedback Device Gets Breakthrough Designation for Chronic Low Back Pain

JOGO Health has received Breakthrough Device designation for its JOGO-CLBP electromyography biofeedback device to treat chronic lower back pain (CLBP).

A randomized control study conducted at Brigham and Women’s Hospital by Harvard Medical School researchers showed JOGO-CLBP is superior to treatment as usual and opioids.

The device has the potential to reduce the number of patients needing opioids, surgery or invasive treatments such as nerve blocks and epidural steroid injections, the company said.

The FDA Breakthrough Devices program gives timely access to medical devices by speeding up their development, assessment and review.
