GE HealthCare Sees Clearance of Precision DL System to Enhance Scan Image Quality

GE HealthCare has received FDA clearance for its Precision DL technology to improve images produced by positive electron tomography and computed tomography (PET/CT) scanners.

The AI-based deep learning technology is available on the company’s PET/CT Omni Legend scanner. A subset of AI and machine learning, deep learning uses millions of connections and parameters to create “a significant leap forward in efficacy” providing clinicians insights to more confidently diagnose small lesions in early stages, the company said.

The system improves detectability of small, low contrast lesions by 42 percent, the company said.
