141 Investigatory Alzheimer’s Drugs, 187 Clinical Trials Described in New Database

October 31, 2023

A new publicly searchable database contains detailed information on all 141 Alzheimer’s disease (AD)-targeting drugs involved in 187 active clinical trials in the U.S. and around the world.

Created and maintained by researchers at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and the Cleveland Clinic, AlzPipeline is a continuously updated “clinical trial observatory” that monitors and analyzes every AD clinical trial included in clinicaltrials.gov and is updated in real time with advanced data management tools.

“The database isn’t yet fully mature, and curators are still adding functionality,” said Jeff Cummings, director of the Chambers-Grundy Center for Transformative Neuroscience in Las Vegas at the Clinical Trials on Alzheimer’s Disease meeting in Boston. The database contains clickable maps that allow people to search for studies being conducted in specific areas.
