VENTANA BUYING AUSTRALIAN COMPANY FOR $346M

Ventana announced Monday that it will buy Australia's Vision Systems Ltd. for $346 million in cash. Vision Systems develops and manufactures instruments and reagents for anatomical pathology and research laboratories through its two units: Vision BioSystems and Invetech.
