UCB AND GERMANY'S COMBINATURE IN DISCOVERY ALLIANCE

Leading Belgium-based drug producer UCB has announced a new strategic alliance with German company Combinature AG. The agreement will enable the Belgian drugmaker to use Combinature's compound fragment library in order to identify ligands, or complexes of molecular particles, which bind to the target of UCB's cancer drugs. It is thus hoped that the automated process will improve delivery of UCB's oncological product portfolio. The deal's financial terms were not disclosed.
