Generic Drugmaker Settles Lawsuit

March 16, 2005

Geneva Pharmaceuticals, which changed its name to Sandoz in 2003, and Abbott Laboratories have settled a lawsuit with the attorneys general of Colorado, Florida and Kansas, the Colorado Attorney General's office said Monday. Under the settlement, which still needs final court approval from the U.S. District Court in Miami, Geneva/Sandoz and Abbott would pay a combined $200,000 civil penalty to the state of Colorado. Florida would get $114,120 and Kansas would get $60,880.
