Siemens Introduces the SOMATOM Emotion 16 CT System

Siemens Medical Solutions has introduced the SOMATOM Emotion 16, its newest 16-slice computed tomography (CT) system.

Further expanding on the successful SOMATOM Emotion product line, the Emotion 16 provides 16-slice technology and a comprehensive set of clinical applications in a compact package, allowing community hospitals and diagnostic imaging centers (DICs) to take advantage of high-level CT imaging.

Combining a gantry rotation speed of up to 0.5 seconds and 16-slice 0.6 sub-millimeter imaging technology, the SOMATOM Emotion 16 is an air-cooled system and does not require an external cooling device. In addition to the economical purchase price, its low life cycle costs and minimal space requirement of less than 200 square feet contribute to the system's cost efficiency, making it particularly applicable to community hospitals and DICs with limited budgets or space considerations.
