Calyx Chemicals to Set Up Rs 14-Crore New Unit at Tarapur

The Mumbai-based Calyx Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Private Ltd is setting up a new unit at Tarapur in Maharashtra. The Rs 14-crore project will be manufacturing a wide range of pharmaceutical products. The commercial production of the plant is expected by June 2005. GR Shenoy, vice president of production, Calyx, told Pharmabiz, the company is also eyeing nutraceuticals segment and is currently establishing tie-ups with overseas players. Countries like Australia, US, Japan, Canada and other parts of Europe have good demand for nutraceuticals, he added.
