Yamanouchi Discovers Target Molecule for Antiobesity, Antidiabetic Drug

Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical announced that it has discovered a promising target molecule for the development of anti-obesity and antidiabetic drug, in collaboration with Keio University. Through mice experiments, the joint research group has confirmed that an Angiopoietin-related growth factor (AGF) has properties to improve obesity and diabetic symptoms. AGF is a protein secreted by liver.
