Lorus Therapeutics Teams With Japan's Sumitomo and Koken

Lorus Therapeutics Inc. is teaming up with two major Japanese companies on a cancer drug project. Toronto-based Lorus said Tuesday it has signed a collaboration deal with Sumitomo Pharmaceuticals Co. Ltd. and Koken Co. Ltd. Lorus will provide proprietary material that is complementary to the lead drug candidate GTI-2601. Lorus, Sumitomo and Koken will then jointly own the compounds that result. Financial details were not disclosed.
