Takeda Pharmaceutical Transfers Part of Wyeth Japan Stake

Takeda Pharmaceutical said Thursday it has sold part of its stake in its joint company with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals to the U.S. partner. Japan's largest pharmaceutical maker said in a statement it has sold a 10% shareholding in Tokyo-based Wyeth K.K. to Wyeth, lowering its stake in the joint company to 30%. The share sale gives Wyeth 70% ownership of Wyeth K.K. and full management control over the joint firm. Takeda declined to disclose the value of the transaction.
