Amgen Sued for Parkinson's Drug

April 29, 2005

According to media reports, two patients afflicted with Parkinson's disease and involved in a clinical trial for an Amgen drug treating the disease have sued Amgen over the discontinuation of the trial. The suit, filed in Federal District Court in Manhattan, alleges that Amgen violated an obligation to continue to supply the patients with the drug after the trial ended. It demands that those who were involved in the trial of GDNF, or glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor, continue to receive the drug.
