Canica Signs On Big U.S. Distributor

Lee Valley Tools spinoff Canica has won a multimillion-dollar contract with a Tennessee firm for its unique surgery scalpel. DeRoyal Industries, a privately-held manufacturer and supplier of surgical equipment, will distribute Canica's safety scalpel. The scalpel is the first of its kind on the market designed to reduce injuries among medical staff. The Almonte, Ontario-based company says the scalpel handle can be used with 98 per cent of all blades in current use.
