InterMune Settles Shareholder Suit for $10.4 Million

May 11, 2005

InterMune settled a class action shareholder lawsuit for $10.4 million, it said. The Brisbane drug company said most of the money would be paid by its insurance carrier. A definitive agreement hasn't yet been signed, and the settlement must still be approved in court. Dan Welch, InterMune's president and CEO, said in a news release that although the company was confident of its legal position, it felt settling the suit was the best way to let it focus on developing the drugs in its pipeline.
