'Drug Specific Information' Web Page Added to CDER Site

May 13, 2005

The FDA has added a new feature to its website that provides consumers with specific safety information about individual drug products.

The new "Drug Specific Information" web page, added to the Center for Drug Evaluation's (CDER) website, provides access to information on more than 200 approved drugs. Each drug has a "core" web page that provides links to all information available about the product on the FDA's website, including general risk information and past alerts issued about the drug.

In addition to the Drug Specific Information page, the CDER website includes a new web page dedicated to the FDA's Drug Safety Initiative. The page consolidates available information on the agency's drug-safety efforts and will be updated with new information as it is released, such as the new draft guidance on the FDA's Drug Watch website.

To view the Drug Specific Information page, go to http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/drugsafety/DrugIndex.htm (http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/drugsafety/DrugIndex.htm). To view the Drug Safety Initiative page, go to http://www.fda.gov/cder/drugsafety.htm (http://www.fda.gov/cder/drugsafety.htm).
