Fears for Jobs as Organon Puts Buckhaven Factory up for Sale

May 23, 2005

Organon, the healthcare division of Dutch chemical giant Akzo Nobel, will this week send a brochure promoting its Diosynth factory in Buckhaven to potential buyers. The plant, which employs 88 staff including chemists and operatives, has been declared surplus to Organon's needs because the group's own chemicals are now produced elsewhere.
