Sanofi-Aventis Cuts 500 Jobs Via Early-Retirement Scheme

Sanofi-aventis SA said about 500 employees have accepted an early-retirement package proposed by management as part of the merger of Sanofi-Synthelabo and Aventis last year. The employees will receive 70 percent of their salary until the legal retirement age, a company spokesman said.
