Chugai Announces Tamiflu Anti-influenza Drug Supply Plan

Chugai Pharmaceutical announced its supply plan for anti-influenza drugs Tamiflu Capsule 75 and Tamiflu Dry Syrup 3 percent for the upcoming 2005-2006 season. The company plans to supply Tamiflu sufficient for approximately 15 million patients, the same level as in the last season, 2004-2005. As of the end of April, Chugai had stockpiles sufficient for about 4.2 million patients. In order to secure the required amounts, the company will need to increase production from October to March 2006.
