NEW ACTION TO TACKLE FRAUD IN PHARMACY, UK

June 27, 2005

Bogus pharmacists, people stealing the identities of real pharmacists and those committing pharmaceutical fraud will be among the targets of a new partnership between the NHS Counter Fraud Service (NHS CFS) and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB). The Memorandum of Understanding is designed to safeguard patients from the threat of fraud by sharing information and closer working. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by NHS CFS Chief Executive Jim Gee and Ann Lewis, Secretary and Registrar of the RPSGB.
